Description
The Denver Broncos Logo and Alternative logo burned into wood.
So it's NFL Super Bowl XLVIII (2nd February 2014) today (or tomorrow for some of you still depending on your time zone!!).
Denver Broncos Vs Seattle Seahawks.
A friend of mine was big into American Football (or just football for those of you in the USA), and got me into it. For someone across the pond, used to GAA (Irish football, hurling and camógaíocht), rugby and soccer, this game was a completely different kettle of fish altogether. Why do half the team seem to go off the pitch every now and again? Why does the ball game seem to last for hours and hours if the running time is 60 minutes? What the hell is a down anyway?!!! What are those things around the waste of some of the players?? What is a tight end when it's at home?! This seemed to be an altogether alien sport!!
But after watching some very helpful videos on youTube about what's happening, I must say I've got the bug, and so I'm very excited to be watching my very first Super Bowl this evening. Any advice from Super Bowl fans for making the most of this??
It's always more fun to pick a side, so what side to pick? Since I'm not from the USA I have no affiliation to anyone other than my friends team (go Bears!) who didn't make it to the Super Bowl. However, earlier in the season I took a shine to the Broncos, watching a few of their games, and they made it to the Super Bowl so I've pinned my colours to the flag.
So goooooo Broncos!!!
EDIT: The Broncos got thoroughly steamrollered Talk about the worst possible Super Bowl to watch as my first Super Bowl being such a one sided game. I wish it has been a closer match.
But special thanks to Leathurkatt-TFTiggy for making it much more fun, and a special shout out to all of the Seahawks fans out there. They really are the best fans in the world!!! Well deserved win for the Seahawks, and I'm delighted for the 12th Man!
A promise is a promise... Broncos lost by more than 30 points so here's photos of Leathurkatt's new plaque
