The original animation was an auto play animation, and the pauses
 on the pages were purposefully done too quickly to read the poems
so that you would go Aldwarke's gallery and read the poems there,
 and ideally fave them all!!!

However, on his request I have now made the book INTERACTIVE so
 that you can read the poems, and click onto the next or previous page
 with the mouse. I've also added an index page with all of the poems
listed so that you can pick your favourites and go to them directly.




This is a one off hand made Coptic bound book inspired by the haiku
collection of aldwarke.

The front cover is bamboo with 5 different veneers, and pyrographed
outlines.

The back cover has the Kanji for "Haiku" 俳句 pyrographed onto a
marquetry cover. I'm not sure what the the central veneer is
pearlescent and glimmers in the light.

In the inside pages there is a collection of Aldwarke's haiku and short
poems that I illustrated.
I've done up an animation simulating the book opening so that you can
see the pages illustrated.

Nymph pyrograph burned into Baltic pine wood. Original artwork by
Josephine Wall. www.josephinewall.co.uk The image was used
for non-commercial use. The stunning frame was hand made by
aldwarke and is made of sapele wood, which
glistens like copper in the light. Work in progress picture for anyone
interested in a better look at the burn lines.

with a ukiyo-e pyrograph (wood burning) by me. Inspired by the Toshi
Yoshida woodblock print "Spring". "Hakubai ni Mau" translates as
"Flying around the Plum Tree".

Aslan Box and Lid

I was very lucky to get my hands on this beautiful box made by :iconaldwarke: with some ingenious hand chiseled indents around the edges of the lid to reveal a beautiful striped pattern from the ply layering.
I've always loved the poster for "The Lion,The Witch and the Wardrobe" and the tooth bites on the edges of the lid made me thin
