Back to reality

You know, there are times when you return from a trip away when you feel like you have come back to earth with a bump. Such was the case two weeks ago when I returned from Skye. I think you all know that I regard Skye as my spiritual home. I have fallen in love with Iceland during the last three years but Skye is still where I belong. I haven't been there for two years and I wasn't aware how much I have missed it until I was there again. I found a couple of new places to visit that I had not been to before. Eas Mor waterfall in Glenbrittle which is reached by a reasonably steep walk but is worth it completely. A waterfall with a nice drop in

Free Spirit Fail Safe

Unhinged, the floodgates collapse The waters weighed so heavily on them that in the dark of night do they unwillingly liberate the transparent stillborn unto the dry soil once adjacent to the gates. Two clocks tick, their gears turning at the uneven tempo Unwound, rusting to a screeching halt on the command of the flood. Time stops at the hinder, And neutrality dies on impact. What a sight as I close my eyes, Late at night when energy dies. Taken to flight my psyche then flies. Do as one might, the cold sweat brings about my cries. Fighting my fight, in where my imagination lies The withered flowers ashen and in bloom Be my soul

The Garden

As I walk down the  garden blackbirds sing, A garden that is layer upon layer Of  blackbirds, year after year after year Giving me such permanence of pleasure. I see the robin who sings all seasons, Smell the roses and the honeysuckle. But most often I see you,  in my mind, Playing hopscotch on the path. Sweet memory.

Different Minds Different Lives

A new book of short stories, published by Xin Publishing. I designed the cover and wrote some of the stories. "A collection of mindful, intelligent stories by a group of authors as diverse as their story telling. 'Some of us are family; we're all friends. Some of us were at school together in the 1960s, or were house-mates in the 1970s. Some of us only know each other online. Our ages range from the early twenties to the early eighties. Most of us are native English speakers, but Grace's mother-tongue is Hindi, Lovie's is Icelandic, Marko's is Croatian, and Meryem's is French. We all wrote in English apart from Meryem, whose story Clive t
